Get Involved with PLA

PLA needs people like you—people who are moved by the extraordinary possibilities that libraries create. By getting involved with PLA you’ll develop new skills, grow your network, and make a difference in your profession and community.

Volunteer with PLA

Looking to get more involved with the Public Library Association? Volunteering for a committee or advisory group is a great way to expand your professional development and make an impact in the library field. Member volunteers help select our conference programs, develop our annual survey, plan the Public Libraries magazine's editorial calendar, and more! Check out the full list to see what interests you.

Please complete the volunteer form (۰̨ͼlogin required) by Wednesday, January 24, 2024 to be considered for the 2024–2025 service term. Selections will be made by the PLA president-elect and notifications will be sent by June.

Also, PLA is looking for members to serve as reviewers for current or future PLA grant and/or scholarship applications. If interested in this ongoing opportunity, complete the volunteer form (۰̨ͼlogin required) and select PLA Grant/Scholarship Reviewer Pool.
